Pair of Antique Indian Grain Measures
Fine pair of carved wooden bowls ('Kunke'), decorated with engraved and punched brass mounts. The conventional design on the brass mounts incorporates stylised birds and flower motifs. Each bowl has a brass disc at its base, one is incised with a rosette while the other is plain. Similar examples can be seen at the Victoria and Albert Museum where they are described as rice measures. 19th century, India
