Large 1840s Pennsylvania Fraktur
Large engraving printed in Allentown Pennsylvania in 1842, hand coloured and filled in with sepia ink attesting to the birth and baptism of a boy named Daniel in the town of Northampton, Pennsylvania in 1842. Pennsylvania German documents (such as birth, baptismal and wedding certificates) that were illuminated with birds, angels, scrolls etc. are known as fraktur. This engraving has been laid down on card and has minor foxing consistent with age as can be seen in the second to last photo.
